Gary grew up in Coral Gables, Florida. He graduated from Coral
Gables High School in 1963 and received his BBA ( with honors )
from the University of Miami in 1966 with a major in
Accounting. He was awarded a graduate assistanceship from the
University of Miami where he taught Accounting as he pursued
his MBA. In 1968 he received his MBA.
After graduating, Gary worked for the largest CPA firm in the
State of Florida which, while he was there, merged into the
"Big Eight" firm now known as PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP.
Subsequently he went to work in both private industry and for
local CPA firms. In 1985 he and Alfred Finkelstein formed the
firm of Finkelstein and Brown, P.A. This firm, through
subsequent mergers and admission of partners evolved to
Finkelstein Brown Nemet and Rothchild, P.A.
Gary enjoys all aspects of the accounting profession but
concentrates in the audit, tax, systems installation and
business valuation areas of the practice. He is one of the lead
auditors in the Broker/Dealer and Investment Advisor portion of
Gary currently serves on the board of the South Dade Estate
Planning Council as well as serving as the President of that
organization. In December of 1995 he achieved the designation
of CVA ( Certified Valuation Analyst ) given by the National
Association of Certified Valuation Analysts an organization of
which he is proud to be a member. He also holds membership in
the Institue of Business Appraisers.
Mark J. Nemet
Mark grew up in New Jersey where he graduated from Union High
School and then continued his education at Long Island
University. He received a B.A. degree in 1969. After completion
of military service in the U.S. Army and marrying his wife,
Adrian, in 1971, Mark enrolled in Long Island University
Graduate School of Business where he received his M.B.A. Mark
is a Florida CPA and also has a CVA designation(Certified
Valuation Analyst) which is awarded to CPA's by the National
Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.
Mark started his career in public accounting in 1973 working in
New York City for what was then one of the "Big Eight"
accounting firms. In 1979 he moved with his family to Florida
and has been a resident of Broward County since that time.
Mark became associated with the firm, which was formerly
Finkelstein & Brown P.A., in 1988 and became a shareholder
in Finkelstein Brown Nemet & Rothchild P.A. in January
1994. His areas of practice include: Individual, Corporate and
International Tax, Estate Planning, Representation Before the
Internal Revenue Service, Auditing and Small Business
When Mark is not assisting our clients he occupies his free
time with sports, travel, enjoying the Florida outdoors, and
spending time with his family.
